Finally, a light one. Pardon the pun.
I don’t feel like there’s a lot to say about this one, though I’ll try to fill a couple of paragraphs. I can find no evidence for this, but I feel like it was filmed in Hawaii, which would make sense. It seems that Tsunku has a particular fondness for Hawaii, and I’m starting to not really blame him. I think if I ever have a chance to retire, Hawaii would be a great place to live out the rest of my days. Good luck to me, I suppose. Hawaii ended up being a recurring theme for Morning Musume, with some of their specials actually being more of a tourist advertisement for Hawaii than anything else. Still fun, though, obviously. I love that the girls, as hard as they worked, still seemed to have fun.
This was a cheerful song. It actually did kind of have a summer vibe to it, and I liked that. This is one of the few Morning Musume videos I’ve seen so far where the lyrics and the music actually matched the video, which is a definite plus in my eyes. It was still quite obviously, stylistically, an early Morning Musume song and video, but it kind of had Malibu, beach boy vibes, and I liked that a lot.
Summers in Texas are, umm… not like that. If you like heat, come to Texas! We got loads to share!
I guess a Sultry Lone Star rating is in order.
Music
Cheerful and well harmonized.
I liked it a little more than average and this is arbitrary anyway.
Lyrics
Nice, average summer love song.
Video
I’m giving half a star because the yellow sundress was pretty. Beautiful scenery.
Total Lone Stars
Nice summer song, with a summer vibe.
